What is Coaching?
Coaching can be a highly-effective way of developing awareness and insight to how we think and behave in the workplace. As a first step, this awareness shift can have a profound impact on a range of issues in our personal and professional lives. Meeting 1:1 with a coach over a number of sessions can be a valuable way of identifying workable strategies for overcoming blocks to success, dealing with challenges and changes in the workplace, and finding and maintaining balance. Individuals often find that coaching leads to:
# greater satisfaction and fulfilment
# heightened levels of engagement and performance
# enhanced self-confidence and assertiveness
# a greater sense of wellbeing.

Coaching Theme (October 2020): Imposter Syndrome
'The term describes a high-achieving individual who struggles to internalise success; who feels fraudulent; and who attributes success to factors such as hard work, charm or luck. Those with ‘imposter syndrome’ experience a chronic sense of inadequacy. It is an experience shared by women and men'. (Kings Fund 2019)
Imposter Syndrome is incredibly common amongst the clinical clients we see within the PSU, who may or may not initially be aware that they suffer with it. The good news is that coaching can develop understanding and awarenes of this limiting condition and empower individuals to manage and over come their limiting beleifs to achieve their personal and career objectives.
