Understanding Dyslexia - a workshop for dyslexic adults in training

Workshop information

This online workshops is suitable for doctors and dentists who are dyslexic and who wish to develop their understanding of dyslexia in relation to work or training.

Our understanding of dyslexia continues to evolve and increasingly dyslexia is more accurately considered a symptom, not a cause. Many neurocognitive functions are required for literacy, and there are many reasons why this might be a challenge. Dyslexia affects people in different ways and commonly co-occurs with other neurodiverse conditions.

Whilst most people associate dyslexia with difficulties in literacy, they are not aware that it also comes with many skills. Dyslexic people often display standout strengths in a number of areas such as visual thinking, verbal skills and long term memory.

This online workshop is delivered by an Occupational Psychologist,
