PSU courses & workshops

The PSU team develop and deliver a variety of wellbeing related training courses and workshops  each year including the following:

  • Assertiveness in Clinical Practice
  • Careers - The Consultant Interview Preparing for Success
  • Managing & Supporting Trainees in Difficult Situations
  • Specialist Communication Skills & Linguistic Support Workshops
  • Work & Wellbeing -  Finding your balance

Due to Covid-19, these courses and workshops are now being produced in virtual online formats. You can find more course or workshop information and either register or express an interest here

Who will be in the online course or workshop?

  • Each group will be facilitated by at least one senior member of the Professional Support Unit team trained to run groups.
  • Anyone who can access the range of PSU services can join the group including
    • Trainee doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurse preceptors and other Band 5-8 healthcare professionals in postgraduate training in London & South East
    • Colleagues from the Induction & Returner (I&R), Retainer, Intenational GP Recruitment (IGPR), Clinical Apprenticement Placement (CAPS) and Supported Return to Training (suppoRTT) schemes
  • We will be offering mixed groups which can be accessed by people from any stage of training and speciality as well as some for those in the same stage of training
  • Large group sizes will be split into smaller groups, each with a facilitator to create a safe space for everyone to speak & be heard

What will the format of the 'drop in' groups be?

  • Each group will be facilitated by 1 or 2  group faciliators
  • Groups will be via a tele-conferencing platform (such as Zoom, Skype or Webex). You will be sent the joining instructions of each private group
  • You will be sent an email before the group with brief information about the group principles & process so you know what to expect
  • There will be space for your to share your experience but you will not be forced to do so. Sometimes listening to the stories of others can be helpful in itself

E-Learning for Health (eLfH) Modules

A variety of E-Module programmes developed by clinicians and eLfH, available covering areas of wellbeing and self care. .NHS or .AC email or Open Athens Account required for Registration
