V-Space themed groups for SuppoRTT Trainees - October start
V-Space is an online group coaching and peer support programme for doctors returning to training, and is relaunching in October 2021 with the introduction of themed groups. If you are a doctor returning to training, simply register for the group which best matches your reason for absence by selecting one of the following themes:
• Parental leave (maternity & paternity) 2 groups starting in Oct & Nov 2021
• Medical leave (illness or Covid-19 related) – dates TBA
• Academic / research – dates TBA
• Career break – dates TBA
Our small, focused groups offer group coaching and peer support opportunities in the online setting. The sessions are designed specifically for trainees who are due to return to work within a few months of the group start date. Participants in the programme are typically from a range of specialties and stages of training, and are located across London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. During the programme, they will meet every fortnight for four group coaching and support sessions, with additional options to connect with each other in between sessions.
Spaces are limited to 14 participants per group so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Each group is led and facilitated by a senior group coach from the Professional Support Unit’s Coaching Service. We aim to create a safe, structured and supportive space for you to explore important issues as you prepare for your return to training.
V-Space features include:
• Guest speaker slots with trainees who have experienced typical challenges related to taking time out of training. They will share what they learned and the strategies and approaches they found useful
• Small, closed groups working together every fortnight over a series of four sessions
• WhatsApp group for connecting with peers in between sessions
• Tools & resources circulated after each session to support your learning and group engagement. Examples of these include resources and activities to help participants identify their needs and goals, build their confidence, develop effective influencing and communication strategies in important /challenging conversations, and generally prepare for / manage their transition back to the training environment.
